Just about caught up! Our most recent Pocket Vinyl show took place last night in Jamestown, North Carolina, at a seriously spectacular brand new venue called Turntable. This place is seriously amazing: Owned and operated by a husband & wife team this venue is an old house that’s been in their family for years, renovated to bright & beautiful cozy rooms that house an area for bands to play, a bar with craft brews and good wines, pour-over coffee, local cafe-type food, tons of local art for sale (while we were there a couple bought two pieces off the walls!), plus other local crafts (ceramic mugs, t-shirts, wooden 6-pack carriers, handmade lunchbox guitars…), and lots of outdoor hangout areas with fire pits etc for warmer weather. They even provided us with our own greenroom!

Untitled-3If you live in the Jamestown, High Point, Greensboro area, you need to check this place out. And do us a favor, become a regular, because Eric & I wish so badly that we lived closer so we could be hanging out here everyday. And touring bands, I highly recommend trying to book a show here. They’ve just opened this past November, and I can definitely see this place becoming a great place in the indie live music community.

We did two 45 minute sets and had a great time. They had a “decorate a cup” contest going on that we both participated in, and we also got to sign their band wall:

I decided to stick with the bear theme. Here’s a better image of the painting from last night:

After the venue closed up and we packed the car & said our goodbyes, Eric & I headed over to the hotel room that the venue had set us up with! So amazing to get to relax and rest up.

And now we’re finally caught up to today! Happy MLK & Inauguration Day! Like I said earlier, we’ve been spending most of this day using wifi & drinking coffee at a Panera bread. No show tonight because of a cancellation, but our 200th show is tomorrow night!! At a DIY venue called the Karate Dungeon. It’s ridiculously close by, so we’re just hanging out in town today, planning on sleeping in the car at a Walmart parking lot again, and hoping for a great 200th show tomorrow! The Facebook event for tomorrow show is here, and don’t forget to keep checking in with our tour dates to see if we’ll be playing in your town!
