The reason Eric & I had decided to get such an early start on Saturday, the morning of the 6th of April, was because we had a show in Green Bay, WI that night, and the venue had gotten us a hotel room for the night!! This would be Pocket Vinyl‘s third hotel room paid for by a venue, and we wanted to soak up every last second of hotel luxury. As you may know, we do sleep in our car a lot and sometimes on people’s floors, and we were just so excited to have a place where we could relax for a bit. We checked in at 1:30 in the afternoon. Ha!

But it’s good that we did, because we decided to shoot the promo video for our first ever Kickstarter! (I’m sorry if you’re sick of hearing about it. I’m guessing I must sound like Max Fun Pledge Drive… which I hate.) But, we needed not only a quiet room to shoot the mini promo video, but also a sink for washing up…

So, again, please consider donating to our Kickstarter. We’re hoping to raise enough funds to record our third album. Plus, if you donate you get awesome fun! Win-win!

In the early evening we headed out to House of Valdar, where our shows were happening that evening. We would be performing two sets as a part of a fundraiser evening in collaboration with the Paul Mitchell School for Children’s Miracle Network. Each time the bidding for our show paintings went up, we’d donate a larger percentage to the charity. Plus, Paul Mitchell gave us gift bags and directed us to a green room, complete with couches & over-sized stuffed toys. We’re pretty famous.

There was a show at 6:00 and another one at 9:00, and they were both set up pretty much the same:

First the HoV IMPRoV CoMEDY group did some time, then a girl on a ukulele named Noell Dickmann played some songs, then we did our Pocket Vinyl thing. Twice in a row. Even though the crowds were completely different, I decided to do paintings that sort of went together.

Unfortunately, as the night went on I began developing a really bad headache that was turning into a migraine. I get bad headaches here and there, more than normal I guess, but they’ve been happening more frequently as this tour has been going longer. I need to get home soon, this traveling and playing shows every night is really badly wearing on me… I was just so glad we had a hotel room to stay in for the night.
