Well, now that the chaos of prepping for the Mystic Art Fest is over, hopefully I can ease back into regularly updating stuff here and tending to other artistic responsibilities. Firstly, I’m a bit backed up on what we’ve been up to. Although Eric keeps telling everyone we’re “taking the summer off”, that statement isn’t even close to what this summer has looked like. Besides cranking out painting after painting for Mystic, we’ve averaged about a Pocket Vinyl show a week over the summer months. We ended our June Wednesday-night artist residency at the Oasis in New London, CT, on the 25th with Fight the Fear, another CT-based band that we’d performed alongside back during the Daffodil Festival in April. The next day we were back in New London again, performing another Live Lunch Break for the Day, this time in the scorching midday heat on-stage at the Hygienic Art Park. Sweat poured off of us both, but we survived, and celebrated the end of our residency with a delightful lunch in the air conditioned Mi Casa 2 (we had a gift card), cheering on a World Cup game with a few friends. Finally, that last image there of the little girl with the sea monster painting was done on June 29, at the Dream Away Lodge in Becket, MA. Fascinating little restaurant out in the woods, and they treated us to a great meal. And that was it for our June 2014 shows.
P.S. Upcoming summer shows:
